PhD subject: Incorporation of phylogenetic information to test biodiversity models in the tropical forests of French Guiana.
Adv: Jérôme Chave
I
am interested in using the framework provided by Hubbell's neutral theory
of biodiversity to assess the relative importance of the ecological mechanisms
of local species coexistence in tropical forests. To this end, I am exploring
the potential of forest inventories to address the questions of species
coexistence and turn-over at a larger scale. This second part of my project
is in collaboration with the French National Forest Office (ONF) in French
Guiana.
